Mission Statement

To create an environment that fosters the advancement of womanhood and growth and development of each member through commitment to leadership, academic excellence, philanthropic service, good health and citizenship. We pledge to perpetuate these goals and ideals to all who will know us in the name of Phi Sigma Sigma.

Scholarship

Greek lettered organizations were founded on the principle of good scholarship. It is mandatory for all sisters here at Quinnipiac and through Phi Sigma Sigma to have a GPA of 2.25. In order to achieve this, study hours, time management, and tutoring are just methods that have been proven successful in maintaining and exceeding the minimum GPA. Also, because we are always Aiming High (our open motto), sisters have been awarded scholastic scholarships!

Sisterhood

If you ask a sister what the most important aspect of her college experience was, she will certainly tell you about the lasting friendships made through her sorority. Membership offers the opportunity to be yourself and strive for your own goals, while also sharing and learning with others.

Leadership

Greeks realize the importance of compromise and good relations in achieving common goals. Our chapter provides our members with hands on experience working with people, developing personal leadership skills, and striving for excellence. These can be challenges, yet, they are important aspects that are learned whether one takes on a committee head position, co-chairs events, is elected to an executive board position, or is involved on various other committees such as Greek week, Panhellenic, order of Omega etc... (there are sooooo many!)

Philanthropy

Community service is a cornerstone of Phi Sig! Respectfully so, we have the opportunity to support many different philanthropic causes nationally, in the community, and right here on campus. We do our best to donate our time, energy and money to those who are less fortunate. Annually, Phi Sig contributes thousands of dollars and countless hours of service to causes including Light the Night, MDA, Breast Cancer, Women of Domestic Violence, The Jimmy Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Camp Sunshine, The National Kidney Foundation, our main cause.

Check out our Philanthropy section for more info.

Social Events

We strive to present a well balanced and entertaining social program because the social development of its members is essential to the well being of the entire chapter. All social activities are d esigned not to interfere with scholastic achievement of the member, but rather serve as another aspect of their college education. Some of the unique opportunities Phi Sig provides are semi formals, intramural sports, Greek Week, theme parties, and sisterhood functions.

Where Does My Money (Dues) Go?

Just as every member of Nationally Recognized Greek Organization, Sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma have financial obligations to pay our National as well.

This pie chart may best explain where exactly your dollars and cents are going...
